Just wondering if anyone has a KAD conversion and what they think. Am currently thinking of getting the Road use conversion but wanted to know if they were reliable and if any body modifications were needed.

it just seems they are far more expensive then buying it direct from KAD and i can't believe they are just getting online prices.

Have heard a rumor that the other KAD engine that ended up over here has had a few problems, seems who ever assembled it didn't have any clearance on the primary gear so had to have the motor and gearbox spli and all checked over and fixed. Not what you would expect for a very large chunk of cash :x

Yeah,,, talk with Craig Williams at Jazz Wheels in Adelaide,,, he has one in his red/black mini sprint

Peter Thompson in Towoomba has one on his sports sedan mini, he runs a power tool shop up there

& 2 brothers Anthony & i`ve forgotten the other brothers name, from the gold coast had one in his mini (they bought it from Steve Winters...but i`m pretty sure they sold it onto someone else since then but don`t know who it was , but that one is still around)

Steve Winters took on the Aust distributorship years ago after my dad knocked it back & i`m sure he still has at least one head left, he`s the guy who had a cream lift/hatch back mini uo here in Qld for years

sorry but i don`t know where all those people are now tho

But i`m sure that Craig Williams can tell you all you need to know,,, he`s had his running for years (well ok with a few crashes & full rebuilds & sent back to England for repairs a couple of times :-) )

& Yes Tony from minisport in Adelaide also had one & he told me recently that he was setting one up & was going to be fitting it into a customers mini for a while,,, not sure of the exact details but i think it was only on a loan basis

Dam i`m just full of Twin cam info lately hey? :-) :-) :-)

He own/runs the Air & Power Tool Centre. He doesn't keep his cars there though.
