I'm not a historian but are you able to cut up a not so rare model? |

There are loads of 78 LS which started life with 998cc. Riddo's car is probably not a rare 1275LS. Riddo, if you have a clean genuine 1275LS you may well find someone who will pay your $10000 pricetag! |

mine is a 78 1275 LS original, was resprayed this year minus the engine bay as it was still good, is rust free, just got sick of time wasters so i am going to do the conversion to it |

My conversion project is a '77 LS, can't be too much more common than a 1275LS? |

Entirely up to you. Just don't think that a 4efte LS is was the same as a unmodified LS. Not many people want to buy these converted minis. |

JC don't be so sure, Clint my mate in Orange sold his 4EFTE conversion (ridiculous attention to detail and concourse condition) for almost $22K. I think as petrol starts to hit, people who are not interested in the A series but love Minis (both for fuel consumption and style compared to modern hatches) will make conversion such as the 4efte more and more lucrative. I got offered $15K on the spot at last years show and shine and as you know mine is far from concourse and has an intercooler sticking not so inconspicuously out the front. Cheers M |

Before you hack it up, can you post some pics? Where are you located? |

perhaps your $10k asking price was unrealistic, given that there are two on carsales.com.au for less than 6500 and 7500. Even those have been for sale for quite some time. that said I don't know the condition of yours vs theres. goodluck with whichever path you choose! |

I say go for it riddo. Even if you got your $10K asking price you'd still have to find a suitable non-LS replacement, and to get one in a similar condition how much change would you have? At least this way you have a known quantity and you know stuff has been done to your satisfaction. Madmorrie |
