Can the gear stick position be moved back to the original position on my morris 850. It has a swift gt1 SA engine in it so the position has been changed. But now I wish to see if there are anyways it could be changed back to make it look like how it used to be back in 1964. Is this achievable and is it gonna be a big job? Thanks, Ben |

My thoughts are that it would be where it is for a reason. If it functions well now and you shorten the rods you run the risk of messing something up. Happy to be proven wrong however. |

You can shorten where the shifter is located by cutting the two rods that go back to the gearbox by the same amount e.g. if you want to move it forward 50mm cut 50 mm off both rods and weld them back together. make sure you cut it in the middle as easier to get it right that way. |
