Came across these on the web - bigger stronger custom CV's made by allspeed engineering in the UK for vauxhall conversions..

If your going to make custom driveshafts with huge power these CV's may be the answer..

It's a 25t Spline...about all i know.

$500 for a pair of CV's is a bit exxy..but they say no one has broken them and they're running them on 2L motor's...

Problem is if you DO break one...you'd want to buy a couple as spare in case they stop making them. They also say they are service-able with standard vauxhall parts so i guess you could also recondition. I wonder what Holden's here use the same CV spline... :?:

I'm kinda torn...i MIGHT brake CV's next once i get stronger shafts... IF that happens i will have already had stronger shafts made to match the Mini Spline...Could try the allegro ones i guess too..

decisions..decisions...

Holden Astra or Vectra would probably have the same splines as the 2.0L Vauxhall. My mate had a 2004 model Vectra that was an import it still had the Opal badges on it. You may have to take a trip to the wreckers.

On the other hand a good machine shop could make a spine to match with just the CV joint as a guide.

Cheers,
Isaac

I've thought a bit more about it and i've decided to stick with the standard S CV's - They are cheap enough (and also easy) to replace and i think strong enough to last at least enough time to not worry..

As you'd say Tricky - Onwards and upwards!

Just use Falkens - Don't think you'd have too much trouble with breaking cvs then!

just goes to show how good the value is in mini parts even at cooper s prices. Compare this "custom" price against OEM replacement parts for say a BMW or Audi and you might think again about how exxy these are...

vauxhaul astra and vectra ran the 2.0l engine, but also calibra turbos in 4WD form and there is some kind of 2 seat sports car as well.

cheers
michael
