the little subaru 4x4 is probably the smallest, & if you`re thinking of making all the running gear fit into a mini then it has been thought of before, just that i havn`t seen anyone do it here in Aus (yet)

& yes, if you were going to do it , then make it have some decent grunt please, all the extra weight & all the added grip from the 4x4 binds it all up & std power isn`t really that exciting, soo add a big hair drier ok??? :-)

I'd go the alto as well if I was doing the conversion.
Well, actually, if I was going to all the trouble, I'd use the 1.3 4wd from a suzuki ignis.
Not that I'm going there.
:D

Saw a mini with 4wd in the local model shop, 1:10 scale I think, is that small enough for your plan.
:D
but real cars,
suzuki swift sedan, very rare, aussie model
subaru alto, probably have to be jap import
honda civic shuttle, very rare, jap import, this is what 'ring mini' has in his blue ute

if I was to do something like this I would buy a smashed Cruize or ?? suzuki ignis.

My missus has a cruize, its shaped like a brick but its still nice to drive and isnt to slow for a 1.3 or something. Variable 4wd without the shitty gearing of a 4wd.

plus they are really not worth that much to begin with so you could probly get a broken one for a few grand.

Plus i think it would really benefit from some tuning.

Very hard to get a hold of because the gearboxes are stronger & are an easy upgrade for high powered FWDs

There was a 4WD fiat panda available in the UK they are quite small and would take a Panda GTi engine transplant. Has been thought of before. Anyone old enough to remember 'The Fall Guy' with Lee (6 million dollar man) Majors? Heard about someone at the time that was doing a 4WD mini pick up in the same colours etc called the Fool Guy. dont know if it ever got finished.
