It's the same motor as used in the HSV Astra VXR

Its based on the engine that was in the European Barina - we had an XC 1.4i great engine when it wasnt broken  the most unreliable car we have ever had.

I will never buy another Holden because of it

Yea we had a choice of buying an XC Barina or an Echo...

Echo wins hands down.

looks like the one called Corsa 1.6 Turbo OPC over here, 1598 cm³, 141 kW / 192 PS at 5850 RPM, 266 Nm at 1980 RPM.
i know the Astra 2.0 Turbo, the one with "only" 200 PS, has lots of problems to get the power to the road, think this one won't be any better

the Barina broke more than the Moke.

It required
- new coil pack
- new suspension - and I do mean all of it
- new rear hub
- cracked brake rotor
- an engine of never ending failure - timing belt, valves etc

It was a piece of crap and very disappointing
