Today 12/ 11/07 passed all hoops and hurdels car is now Victorian registered and fully legal. Hi folks, here's some pictures of the subframe I built to drop a b16a vtec from a '92 Integra halfcut. I'll post the full story and pictures later, including a "what not to do" section; first entry in which will be "Do not cut out the original VIN number and restamp it back yourself". These aren't all in the right order, but you clever guys will work the sequence out. Mini Regards, Peter Dunn ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yea that's something different ![]() Looking forward to more pics, I thought we needed to use part of the original subframe? like from the towers back for ease of engineering? |

Nope, no requirement to use the original towers Josh - but engineering new suspension will involve more certifying and scrutiny from the Vehicle Gestapo!! Frame looks great Pete! |

Those pictures were a bit boring, so here's a few more until I have time to do a full report There's enough space left over here for another one.......NOT! ![]() You'd hardly know it wasn't a 1098 in there if I didn't tell you: ![]() One day I'll tell you what happens when you have to cut off the original vin number.... ![]() How the subframe bolts up underneath: ![]() Metro brakes, Mini suspension arms and Honda box. Should I call it a Minda or a Hondi? ![]() |

Something about the cam cover of a Honda, they just look sweet in a clubman engine bay. I really like how the frame bolts onto the floor in a few places. I dare say your engineer might like that idea too. Question - Do you have any issues with the wheels hitting the motor or box? Just wonder why it is you have been able to retain the factory mini track when most of the Honda conversion seem to widen it? If you are encountering issues with wheels hitting motor/box i saw these nifty little things the you can put on your steering rack to limit its movement The purpose of the things was to prevent 13" wheels from scrubbing and to minimise severe rack movement in race minis but I'm sure it would also be useful if you suffer from too much movement in the rack.. |
