You might be able to sneak it in without her seeing it but all of us coming around with our mini's to use it might be a giveaway .

Be a briliant idea though , a mates family who are into MG's in a big way have their own hoist , I'm more jealous of their facilities than I am of their cars :twisted:

My mechanic has a hoist in his garage. Had to lower the floor to do it.

hahaha we just got one put into my dads paint shop "under floor painting equipment" lol.....

it is great - changed master cylinder and bleed brakes yesterday without having to bend over - remove wheels or crawl on the floor...

going to give the holden an oil change in the weekend lol

a mechanic that i used to visit when i lived in geelong had a hoist, but you had to jack the mini up a little to fit the arms underneath it!!! HE needed to lower his floor haha

the engineer tahtdid teh fabricating on my burnout car has a hoist at his house, handy as,

my shed will see one whenim old and rich!

we have the next-best-thing at my dad's place.. a ~6 foot deep pit in the garage floor, with lighting, ladder and water pump for the rainy season. it's brilliant for bleeding brakes, oil changes, replacing rear gear change mounts etc etc.

Its not an un-common idea. Its how you will see buses get serviced. If I were to build another house I would build one of those in it. They will also make a good gimp cage if you're not into cars.
