can any one help my friend has a clubman and wants to convert to round nose front end does this mean he just needs all the panels

im converting my front to a roundy too... there's a how to thing in the how to section

Easiest way is to talk to Steve at Brickworx or any of the others that bring in Rover half cuts and get the panels from there .

The trick is to use Rover panels. As sports850 said.

The Rover bonnet has the same hinge spacing as a Leyland, so no fiddling around making custom brackets or using bonnet pins etc.



Oh, and less rusty too

tanks heaps big help wondering if any one has put there mini on a spit i want to make a rotisery so i can get a good finish on the undercarriage any help or info would be great

my last one was sand blasted should have paint stripped took me that long to fix warped panels

The mini experience had an article where GT(anton) had his gt clubby stripped with sodablasting...doesnt warp panels

lots of people have been having problems with soda blasting - apparently it leaves a film of crap on the body that stops the paint from bonding and some other yuck... do some research

There's a place here in Adelaide called 'Minus-Paint' they have an 'Alkaline tank' not sure of what the actualy chemical is though. But, it removes all the rust, bog, paint everything, appart from the steel, then they prime it for you, and you repair all rust holes or whatever (unless you pay them even more to do the rust repair).

From the brochure I got ages ago, it looked good, and sounded good, but I'd already gone and sandpapered down my whole car anyways.

Oh btw, as I recal the 'Alkaline tank' will corrode aluminium, so steel only cars, I think, but don't hold me to that.

Dont want to stir up a massive debate but was watching this DVD of a mob restoring mustangs, they bead blasted the old shell and that thing turned out absolutely awesome. Does it depend on who you get to do it? Does warping occur when they work too much on a certain area?

that is true to an extent my mate used to do it the problem is you need to use a small nozzle and i want everthing gone so they need to do both sides of panels wich apparently increases the risk of warping plus the van at the back has a long flimsy panel if i ever get my van running again i will show you the rear windows were a night mare

The soda blasting is gentle on the panels, which makes it no good for removing rust. After it's been blasted, you just have to make sure that you clean and neutralise the panel. Simple as a rinse with watered down vinegar and then hose down.

Here are the moke wheels that I recently had done (Before, during, and after).







The soda was that gentle that it left the texta mark on one of the wheels where someone had written "Layland" on it.
