I call BS on this.....................(no offence Simon).

No one has seriously attempted a motorcycle engined conversion that we know of, principally to get road-registered as a daily driver. I think its potentially a lot of smoke and mirrors and I call shenanigans!!

This kit does not have a reverse gear which is required when bike engines are fitted to cars.

Thats ludicrous............

I would simply use a Quaife or Taggert unit with integral reverse, or reversing motor on the output shafts.

Agreed, depending on gearbox, with a quaife unit you could have 5-6 gears going forwards and reverse :D

I can't believe that they put all that work into engineering such a neat kit, and then blow away the integrity of their product by suggesting "gravity" as a option for reverse.

people say that it would cost a fortune to get one road registered. anybody actually know what sort of money would be involved??

Surely a bike motor would follow the same scrutiny as a VTEC or 4EFTE conversion. ie engineering and all.

I've emailed the guy to see what sort of extras would be needed with the kit. I'll post up if i get a response. I would love to see one of these in the flesh.

The problem is that bike engines come under different rules to car engines. The rules for car engines are much stricter than bikes. (ie: catalytic converters) I doubt very much that any registration body in Australia would let a bike engine through.
