Fibreglass is a thermoset plastic will not melt. It may blister & burn, but it will not melt. Wrapping & heat shields will not only help under bonnet temperatures, it will increase the efficiency of the turbo & reduce lag. |

My engineer made me wrap my exhaust manifold and put a heat sheild on. At first i wasnt happy but when i left the car running for a hour on the drive and was still able to touch the exhaust manifold without burning myself i was impressed. Dan |

if you are going to have problems with heat around the turbo and room. Buy a turbo bag. They shield the heat and aren't cheap but well worth it just for the performance gains over time you will damage your paint more than the fibreglass |

Yeah, but it does hold the dirt (not for show cars). Try your local industrial supplier Blackwoods / Coventrys & ask for fibreglass ladder tape. May be cheaper. Also soak the stuff if water before wrapping it on the car & wear gloves/dust mask. Stops too much of the itchy stuff ![]() |

Not entirely sure about 'stylish' and I guess you'd need to trim the lip but not that bad http://www.absmotorsport.net/product_info.php?cPath=35_225&products_id=4899 Clubman maybe a little less stylish |

Clacker_Dacker, that morris bonnet looks sh@t hot. would love to do something like that, but ill see how i go with space, i think ill have to make do with 3 2" holes with mesh behind it (lower down, near turbo). not pretty but maybe effective? thanks everyone, great help ![]() |
