Post subject:  Oxy Sensor Plug Snapped Off - Now Running Pics 22 Oct

Hey guys I have snapped off (don't know when) the connection for the exhaust oxy sensor of the loom. That means both the male and female plugs together. Can someone give me an accurate location (photo would be good) on where this attaches to the loom. I have been over with a fine tooth comb and cannot even find a stub of a wire.

Any help much appreciated as it is booked for the Dyno on Fri! No Dyno no MDU

Cheers

Matt

Matt,

I just got my loom out of the cut last night. Here are a few labelled pics. Yes, I went a bit overboard with the graphics, but I wanted to make it clear.

Does your FI go to open loop without the oxygen sensor? If it does it just means you will be running rich, rather than not running.

Well first off an announcement. My wife gave birth yesterday to a 3.3kg baby girl Isabella. Mum and Bub doing fine, in fact the labour was only 4 hours. So obviously that has taken precedence over everthing else including the car which means I am well behind schedule. If I had more time I could possibly had the car ready for the trip but alas I don't think I will make which is a major pity.

Well guys thanks to you all i have found the wire and connected up the O sensor. Thanks very much. I started her this arvo and she ran pretty well. The only issues are leaks around the RRFPR which I am slowly solving and water leaks around the water lines off the thermostat housing. She runs rich which has me thinking maybe the O sensor is not working, but I will investigate tomorrow. I have to bleed the brakes and I think one of my braided lines for the brakes has a leak in it. So the issues are rising. Still she started first go and ran well. Also if she bogs down if I press the accelerator this is generally a sign that she is running rich and choking correct? She sprayed lots of soot out the back so I think she is running very rich. I reduce the pressure from the RRFPR but alas I am not certain exactly what setting to put. I also found a line that I had not connected up. I had it set for a dyno today but had to cancel  .

Oh well see how she goes...thanks for all the efforts especially you madmorrie much appreciated.

Cheers

Congrats on the new arrival Matt. I can well imagine that you will be a bit tied up to spend time on the mini. Still, I hope you can sort out the bugs.

No probs on the wiring stuff, just lucky I had it handy. I now have a bare half cut and am looking to jig it up a bit.

Matt,

Big congratulations on the arrival of your new baby daughter Isabella. Looks like the overseas visitors made it just in time, or your wife held on long enough :)

Hope all gets sorted with the mini, can't wait to see your dyno results.

Well guys didn't make it to MDU unfortunately. Too many small things to take care of on the car and also even though my wife implored me to go (got browny points in the delivery room  ) I really didn't feel comfortable leaving. Still I have completed everything today and while it won't win any concours events it works.

I took her for a run around the block and the first time would not boost at all. Then I realise that that loose hose was actually for the MAP sensor!!!

Connect that and took her for a run. All I can say is massive wheel spin and torque steer in third...Will not flog her until I can get her dynoed and they can sort out this rich running. I have no idea what I am doing with teh RRFPR as I set it to different settings and not much changes. Anyway she works well considering and once dynoed should be a weapon. Definitely a huge huge increase on the original 95bhp on 6 psi...Also had no BOV that will be here tomorrow so there was a slow pick up in boost but when it did come on I had dislocated shoulders...Awesome...

Cheers

Matt

Here's a pic...or two.

congrats. you need a fuel pressure guage when you adjust the rrfpr. it changes the base idle pressure and raise according to boost so really need a wide band fuel ratio meter going to check thing s out
