If these new rules come in next year restricting conversions with a 20% power increase over stock motor i will be looking at the mitsubishi 4A30T.

Its 660cc stock 47kw, 4 cylinder DOHC 20 Valve, Turbo, Intercooled, efi, 4wd, 5 speed. But dont tell anyone :D

Oh and anyone thinking its just a 660cc motor why bother, well how does 12000rpm redline stock and cars in japan with over 130hp@wheels with unopened engines.

they have funny names for that donor car over there "Town Box" & "Pajero Mini"

20v  imagine the size of those valves

I think with that size motor you could fit a good size radiator at the front (round nose)and still have penty of options for the intercooler and all under 600kgs

yours would be an awsome conversion with awd

This is a pic of the one im planning on next year into an 850

Only one way to know, give it a try hehe,,,,, (thats what i did with the 4efte)

i will be getting measurments on one in the next few days, but by looking at photos i think it will be fine in a round nose without cutting inner wings, the inlet mani is in a great position too.

Yes the 4a30t comes in 4wd and 2wd, im still waiting on pics of the 4wd box to see the size.

hey brad
ive being doing some research and found that the IHI RBH4 turbo is one of the best upgrades, with a better intercoloor and manifold, saw an f6a put 74kw at the wheels on 1.2 bar using a unichip

Im sure this would adapt to most motors this size, boost hit at 4000 and went all the way to 9000 rpm :D :D :D

yeh the IHI RBH4 is a great little turbo, very similar in specs to the garrett gt17. Fast spool on them and hold 15psi and higher all the way to redline.

f6A is a great little motor, i have personally seen 80kw@wheels out of one, around 130hp@crank, not bad for a 660cc motor.

My replacment project has a few guide lines engine wise, first it is going to be in a round nose shell, no engine bay mods at all, has to have turbo, 5 speed manual, fit in a 4wd gearbox without moving steering column, rear diff compact, and also look good in the bay :D

If these guidlines dont come in for 20% power increase, i will be going either a suzuki K10A turbo, or daihatsu K3-Ve, K3-ve2, K3-vet both 4wd.

If the power increase limit comes in we are stuck with a factory motor with less then 65hp going of the factory specs on a 1098cc mini.

Then i will be looking at the mitsubushi 4a30t, suzuki k6a, daihatsu JB-det, subaru EN07 supercharged, all 4wd boosted motors with 64hp stock and all can make twice that power unopened.

what about the F6A DOHC Turbo 47.7kw 657cc 3cyl

would the CB 100 DOHC Turbo 78kw 993cc 3cyl
pass the new laws?

the f6a is running in a mighty boy a friend of mine has and their engine bay would be smaller than a roundies (just on looks)
