Does anyone think this is a good way to go. I've found one at a wrecker but still waiting on a package price for it. It would be going into a clubman. Its either that or a 4efte. Thanks everyone. Phil ![]() |

Hopefully they'll come back with a good price. My boss buys a lot off them so I should get a good deal. |

13secmini reckons these donks are smaller than the 4EFTE, and there's a turbo 4WD version in Japan too. |

Go for it i say. It would be good to see some other conversions happening. Just check out capacities with an engineer. Dan |

k3-ve is a daihatsu motor, 1.3L came in australian sirion, japanese Storia has around 75kw. This motor also came out in a toyota called the Duet. In japan there is a 4wd version in both makes of car. There is 3 versions, k3-ve 1.3L na 75kw , k3-ve2 1.3L na 85kw, k3-vet turbo 100kw. Turbo motor is auto only. The echo / vitz motor 2NZ-FE is very similar in design but has different inlet and exhaust manifolds and ecu. 1.3L na and turbo versions. 4wd manual is available. |

Yeah I investigated putting a K3-VE in the clubby, damn nice motor. I even searched for a k3VET import but didn't have much luck. Didn't know they were auto only (the turbo version), just as well... M |

Just got a price back from the wreckers and they only want $900 for the complete car minus all hanging panels so its a GO for the conversion. I'll keep you all posted with progress. Phil ![]() |

wow thats a great price. Only concern with it will be the clearance between the gearbox and the steering rack i think, but the pictures i have seen of them they look pretty small in that area compared to the 4efte. Take some pictures of the motor when you get it please, things like inlet manifold position and oil filter location. Did it come with the steering wheel gear shift? |

Thanks for all your imput. It has a manual gearbox so no steering wheel gear change. Would be pretty cool though. I'll take plenty of photos as I go. Phil. ![]() |
