Post subject: | plumbers bends for inlet manifold? |
heya all.... is it OK to use these sort of bends to make an inlet manifold - I'm going to (shut up Andy) use a pair of downdraft webers on my honda and I'm curious if they'd be OK, or I'd have rust problems.... or any other reasons not to. I really should just sort out how to weld stainless steel, but you know... ![]() (pic courtesy of JC) |

It's ok to use those but for an intake I'd just use madrel tube bends. Much lighter and smoother surface finish. See your local truck exhaust shop for the Fleetline catalogue. M |

M sigh... you're not meant to say that.... cos then I'd be welding thin stuff and I'd have to learn to weld properly and I'd have to get a decent mig as well as my trusty monster arc welder and my crap little gasless mig, and I might as well be using stainless mandrel bends.... see, I'm a slacker, and a cheapskate! |

you want to be carefull with plumbers bends.... as the plumbers bend, you quite regularly see a crack appear.... |
