Just saw this pic on boostcruising.. it's from the recent Powercruise at Eastern Creek. Last I saw this mini it was NA. I'm assuming it's had a turbocharger put on it.. with the fat intercooler sitting up top there.. anyone got info on this?

the intercooler mounted there does diddly squat, u need air to pass thru it to work.

That's not Chris's car. It belongs to a bloke on here called Borgy (?).

Yeah Chris's car is the debumpered red one...

dodge, how is it any different to the stock starlet intercooler?

it must work.. maybe not the best position but if you're not putting huge amounts of boost through it, I'm sure it does the job.

thats the factory setup, not really functional but passes , the only way a intercoole works is by having air pass over the fins, thats y u can buy water coolers for these type of cars
check out the liquid to air and air to ice

The standard starlet has a bonnet scoop and ducting that forces air through the intercooler....the only time it isnt efficient is when you are not moving......

I havent seen that mini with the front on, but i'm guessing he has a scoop to feed it air....he also appears to have a water misting system to futher cool it down.

yes i did get bored and fed up with the countless amount of dyno hours trying to squeeze 2-3 hp out of it for over three years. and it only took 5 working days from drive in to drive out... The top mount works fine as it dose reduce intake temps by around 10-15 deg depending on body speed through a scope in the already bulged bonnet..... The blue spray bar you see is addinatial cooling using nos..... intake temp is around 10 after the cooler compared to 30 at the comp housing..... Oh and dodge i would not reccomend spraying alcohole around the top of any engine....... If you want to reduce the temp of different fluids passing through the engine i stress you do not even turn your car on......
