Where are the pictures at. Who's got pictures of mid mount 2wd 4wd mini's. Wouldn't it be nice to create a v6 2wd/4wd group b style street racer like the renault r5 or the metro 6vr4rvr464rv or whatever it's called... ![]() |

Have been a fair few done in England , also Domino fiberglass cars who made the Pimlico and other fiberglass variants made one (can't remember the name of it) specifically for mid engined mini units , it had a decent roof chop as well . There's a moke running around somewhere (Sydney I think) with a suzuki GTI engine in the back of it , it used to be in Lismore with a 1275 on nitrous , new owner bought it and went the gti route . There was also a chopped CLubman in the 70's running drags in Aust with a 1426 Lynx conversion cooperS motor in the back , I think it was Sydney based and NSW rego'd so it has been done in Aust and therefore could be done again , just take a lot of work ..... |

Cushlash, There is a mob in the US that will build you a whole car with a mid/rear mounted VTEC honda motor. Google - Racetek (i think) When assessing which engine conversion I went and had a sticky beek at a fairly new MR2 at the wreckers. Being a rear mounted motor factory all the gear selectors and what not would be sorted already. I thought you may even be able to adapt the Toyotas 'subframe' to the mini. If you wanted to go AWD there are PLENTY of front mounted, East-West engine configured options available. JC |
