Well guys I have my engineering certificate! Rego next week hopefully. The end is nigh. Just got to sort out a few little odds and sods (like really minor stuff) and I think she should be good for rego. The only thing is she will be two seater unless I fix the seat so it runs forward when you tip it. But that's something I will worry about later. Cheers Matt |

Congrats ![]() But do fix the seats. It will be cheaper to do it all at once, and you may never get around to going through the approval process again once you get rego. and I'm sure you'll have a big list of passengers for your first road run ![]() |

Its pretty much as simple as getting a cable that disengages the sliders as well as flips the seat forward. The current seat rails are off a suzuki swift and the aftermarket seats simply bolt to them. Like I said it is something to take car of once the car is registered. Also the problem stems from the type of seat because they are so tall and wide, only a kampuchean would fit through the gap anyway so I am quite happy to have it a two seater. |

Matt, As Con the fruiterer would say: "Beeeewtiful" I myself cracked open a 1984 Moet Chandon in your honour - well done Ol' Son!! Can you tell me exactly the tests that the Engineer went through with you so we, who are about to come up to this exercise, know what to expect. Congrats again. ![]() Andy |

Cheers guys yeah massive relief and the report is excellent and signs off on things I didn't even think about like the steering wheel, and he confirmed that the braided lines that came from England (with the metro 4pots) meet ADR. And he signed off on the noise level for the exhaust but unfortunately it says "to be confirmed at time of inspection". But yeah it ticks off all the modifications. Also I found out why she didn't handle quite the way I expected the guys who put the A539 Yokos on pumped them up to 25psi. As for the test it concerned braking/handling as he had tested the rest previously. I had to do 10 runs of approx 100kph and brake continuously to test for brake fade. One run where I lock up the front and test that the rear doesn't break traction and overtake the front (brake bias). Change of direction. I also had to drive inside a circular storm water tunnel, this was called the Italian Job test ![]() Cheers Matt |
