with todays rising petrol prices i am thinking about it*.

if you changed a few pannels to be fiberglass and what not. made the mini a tad lighter then it allready is, converted the boot and mabey under the back seats, if need be, to be a air tank. you just might be able to have a clean non expensive mini.

mabey i should contact the guy and see if he does conversions.

terms and conditions apply +(i haven't read either of the sites yet and may never get around to doing it)& *(when i am saying "i am thinking about it", i mean it is a great idea in theory but i am still in school)

Sounds like a good idea. But honestly I don't think you'd do it to save money, the amount of petrol you could buy with the amount the conversion would cost you... :?
But good for the environment..

most cars would be like this right now if the large fuel companys hadnt bought the patents/copyrights of previous similar inventions

Hmmm rotary vane motor...
I've had a lot to do with GAST air vane motors in industry, yes they are torquey and so on, but..
Long term reliability is a question mark, they take a lot of air to get power, and you are still burning fossil fuels (at power station) to make the electricity that will then be used to compress the air into your tank.
May be OK for golf buggies etc but I don't see a long range for a car using this technology.
Nice idea though...

that is why i said "cleanish"

and if over time our power plants became greener, like solar wind and water, i would be even greener, then you would have to focus on what the car is made of.

Cool Idea - If they're that light and small - how about one driving the rear wheels of a mini with a small air tank - just used for launching the car - imagine how quick you could get it off the line!!

That Idea has been done with electric engines before to provide a boost and AWD. Also look at AWD motorbikes (the two wheel variety) these use small hydolic pumps coupled to the engine and in reverse at the wheels or potentaily a diff I suppose to provide power to the rear wheels
