Hey everyone, coming on the back of the 12inch wheel thing, my speedo is obviously out as (there's no way I was doing 140kmh officer). Anyway anybody know what's involved in calibrating cable driven speedos?

Cheers

Matt

I know the electronic ones are just calibrated by pushing a button at three speeds on a dyno...

Dont the cable ones have to be sent back to a calibrator???

matt mine is about 10kms out at 110kph (really doing 100), thats with a rolling diameter on my wheels of 500mm. I just left it like that to keep my license hehe, but im sure any speedo place can change the gear on the speedo to read right.

There is one in near me in sydney but not sure if there are any in act? maybe ask your engineer as speedo calibration was one of the requirement to pass the engineer inspection.

Shouldn't be overly costly to get the little box made up that goes in between the cable and the speedo. I think you will need to know final drive ratio aswell as the role out of the wheel. If you get a price to have one made down there Matt and you feel it is excessive I have a contact that will do one.
