yeah was thinking about that...but you'd have to have the suspension piston sitting on the top A-arm rather than the bottom one...otherwise you'd either get in the way of the driveshaft or the steering mechanism...not sure of the technical ramifications of putting the piston on the top arm rather than having it go on the bottom one and fit through the top one (as is standard in most rear wheel drive setups with double wishbone on the front)

Is this really relevant to engine conversions?

is building a custom subframe to fit a 4efte relevant? yes i would say so :)
is considering an improvement for the suspension setup for said subframe relevant? yet again, i would say so :)
where would you have posted this metalfab?
also how many non-converted minis use custom front subframes? not too many i'd say...

Have a look at the Z Cars site. They have a new front subframe that is double wishbone. Though it was not designed to house a motor as it is used in the rear engine bike motor conversion.

What are you trying to rectify by fitting a double wishbone front end?

For years Honda only did wishbone set ups for FWD cars. Could copy, adapt one of these.
Skylines have wishbone front and have drive shafts. R32 has very short upper arm but R33 is longer = better.
Wreckers run I suggest.

been looking at suspension types and it is thought (by experts) that double wishbone is superior to macpherson because it maintains camber at all times...and therefore handles better...atleast that's what i've read :P

i am just considering options...would hate to get it all done and finished and then find out there was something awesome i could have done if i had just done more research at an earlier stage in the build process...

i am posting constructively... that wasn't against you ....

so why are you putting a 4efte in a mini anyway? Why didn't you just buy a starlet and strip it out?
