Guys,

Went down to the garage and decided to spin the turbo and see if i could reverse the turbo position. So now i have the following two options both with there own issues.

Please comment on your thoughts

OPTION 1

I have decided to mount the radiator under the boot so it is now no longer an issue to try and squeeze it in.

The down side to each options are as follows(that i can think of at the moment):

OPTION 1

1. slightly longer log (100mm longer)
2. Very tight to run the exhaust behind the motor with the gearchange cables being in the way

OPTION 2

1. Part of the exhaust will be seen from the front of the car. The exhaust has to pass the bellhousing so you will see about 150mm long and 50mm hanging down (gutter cruncher).
2. Fresh air intake is currently facing into the engine bay and will possibly pick up hot air from the turbo.

Dan yeah I would go with option 2 aswell. As for being seen from the front you can well and truly see mine too as long as you don't go through the magic 100mm clearance from the ground it shouldn't be an issue. See pic...

option 2.... you could cover the exhaust with a sump guard.

can you run a phat air duct from under the inner wing to help with intake, also is the intake able to flip around 180 and point into the inner wing.

Got rad sizes thanks alot. My exhaust will be much more noticable as it has to cross over the bellhousing so it will basicly be hanging below the beaver panel. I am now thinking maybe i de-bumper the front aswell and set up the No plate (like Chris, Twincammini) to cover over the pipe??

Yeah thought about that to and I suppose the answer is that i will have to make up a sharper bend to achieve this, but should be able to make it work.

whack a zeemax kit on it :) not only wont you see any engine componentry but it looks BLOODY AWESOME as well :) especially with the black border thing...gotta love that :) makes it easier to fit and repair after a bingle too :)

or if you dont wanna do that...why not stick another bend in the exhaust and make it run parallel to the log? then pull a 90 degree turn and go the path of the stock exhaust?

Wouldn't it suck if the extra length of the manifold and all the 90 deg. bends reduced the effeciency to the point you're no better off compared to running a ct9?

I'm not saying it will, but it will be interesting to see how much difference all the extra effort makes.

i would doubt that you would lose that much efficiency...there will be more lag as the ct9 is a pretty quick spooling little turbo...but a GT25 is capable of so much more than a ct9 :)

looks awesome btw dan...you reckon there'd be enuff room for a 6inch barrel liquid-air IC between the turbo output and the plennum?

i'd say option 2 without a doubt...shorter header (less lag) easier to fit the dump pipe (PIA--)...an all-round neater solution IMO...and i dont think it is a compromise...its just better that way :P
