can i use the stock mini engine mounts?
they are nice and compact and I could easily make them work.
they are shaped like an S.
gti motor.

btw I have bent all my pipes up for the subframe.... just can't seem to cut the front off the mini frame. ( not physically but mentally ) why cut up a perfectally good subframe....... ah its going to happen

You could but there's better choices

Std GTI Mk2, Barina gearbox mount
KC-KE Ford Laser for rear mount (Kenpro 8121)
Mazda 808 72-78 for front mount (Kenpro 8135)

are these mounts able to be used with a mk2 suzuki gti

yeah I know but they cost money.....
the mini ones are there and they are new!!

The mounts will fit both Mk1 & Mk2 but not the Mk1 gearbox

Do the job properly & don't use "mini" mounts

what is wrong with mini mounts?
I think that the mazda 808 mount has a few short comings actually

When you said "mini" mount I assumed normal BMC A series mount

can you not use the suzuki mounts?? mine uses the 3 normal toyota mounts

try to use factory engine mounts for the suzuki, mounts like that mazda when worn can break and the engine will drop, the angle of these are important when fitted and are only really good for rwd conversions. modern mounts will transfer less noise and are much stronger

the ones that I have a freaking huge and thats why I like the mini engine mounts..
Only used on the engine part, and not the gearbox.

yes they are pretty big I searched through the wreckers next door to my workshop to find suitable ones that are smaller. does the suzuki use one at the front and back of the motor and one on the gearbox (like my sirion) if so the mini ones might be ok

The mounts I have used are the best & easiest way to mount the Suzi motor
The Laser mount goes on the rear of the block & the Mazda one goes above
where the aircon mount attatches, how can it break when it is sandwiched
between two plates with the weight of the engine sitting on it
Engine mounting plates must be constructed so that if for any reason the
mount itself fails the engine cannot fall out of the car, this is an engineering
requirement
As for BMC mounts they give no rotational or sideways stability & can be only used
in the same plane & angle as the original A series engine is mounted
It is not worth the time & effort to try & reinvent the wheel
