Ive decided to run with my 10inch wheels for the engine conversion because im using cooper s discs that will still fit, just wondering if any one has done this with good results or has everyone gone for 13's due to brake upgrades

im running dunlop 10 70 165 tyres at the moment and the rim is 6 inches wide with wide offset

I think it will be fine for engineers if your running a non turbo motor under 1300cc. All the suzuki g13b guys run cooper s brakes, but most will admit that there not really upto the task, and some have gone to camira, honda, metro brakes and bigger wheels.

You can always go the KAD 4 piston calipers on the 7.5inch discs, but big $ there.

$2500 for a set :) excluding delivery...thats from minisport though...so delivery shouldnt be TOO much...

guess i wont know until i get i running ,the motor is 50kg less weight so that should help
most race cars would use the KAD setup wouldnt they so the can keep the smaller wheels
I love my speedy hotwires they give it a good retro look

if you already have the s discs the kad calipers alone are $1200

thats a bit more resonable ive aready spent $$$ to rebuild my brakes but thats a good future option
are the KAD calipers much better in the way of claping surface area

I am guessing they use the S brake pads so the pad surface area won't be any more but I don't know anything about them :?
EDIT: Sorry it says these are for 8.4" disks

most maybe all 4 pots use the metro turbo pads which are bigger than s calipers, another option is alloy 4 pots , $899 a pair from minisport sa

just make sure you get the ones for 7.5 solid discs

the price is getting better :D
that would have to be the best bang for your buck brake upgrade for a mini no matter what size wheel you have

Model: MINI Mini / Mini Cooper 1.3i
Year: 97-01
Front: *
Rear:
Part number: 08.5464.10

TH: 9,5
Min TH: 8,6

This is from the brembo website (http://www.brembo.com)
213mm is 8.4" so they'd fit under 12's...very very VERY interesting...maybe i should start a new thread...

I don't think they make calipers for the mini... just rotors.
And note; not everything Brembo is HIGH PERFORMANCE; they do make OEM stuff for factory replacement.

really? so they make rotors that they dont make calipers for? that seems a bit stupid...i wanted it more for bling-factor...so the brembo tagged calipers are actually MORE important than brembo rotors... :P

what honda brakes to people usually put on their minis? civic? what generation?
