i am considering just grinding the nutt off and then seeing if i can slide the aircon unit off over that...is this a bad thing to do? someone has rounded off the nut on it during a previous install... ![]() its the one you can see below the red (momo corse) oil filter... here's a closeup: ![]() |

It's your call, but I would remove the oil filter & use a pair of Vise-Grips |

the position of the oil-filter isnt actually a problem...i can get spanners and stuff in there without any trouble... hmmm...vise-grips...not a bad idea...the only prob is that there's almost no working room...i'll make a stop in at the local hardware store to see if i can get a pair this arvo...might do the trick...if not...its angle grinding time... |

Or you could usse a Metrich spanner, will remove rounded nuts. Or just grind through the nut untill you almost reach the thread and the you will find it will come of fairly easy after that. Or just chop it off. You wont need it. Dan |

Can try giving it tap with a chisel too. See if you can get it to turn. |

Use a pipe wrench (I'm sure you guys have much better word for it and will make fun of me.) that will get it off way better than vise grips as long as there is room for one. |

If you take the grinder to it how about grinding some flat sides to the nut and then trying a spanner on it ![]() |

![]() coz that's too tricky...might as well just take the whole thing off...there's limited room and i cant be bothered frigging around with trying to grind tiny bits off it...would rather just nuke it... |
