Post subject: | engine cleaning services |
in short my 4efte has seen a bit of weather by the looks of things and alot of the aluminium bits as well as the steel bits have a fair bit of surface corrosion and are in a general state of dirtiness...does anyone know where i can send the donk to get blinged up a bit? i have looked into aluminium cleaning products but have found (via reviews and forums) that they are either ineffective or incredibly hazardous to one's health...does anyone know of a place i can send the engine (engine only) to get cleaned? |

I haven't heard of anyone providing this service. Usually parts are steam cleaned and polished if necessary when a rebuild is done, but unless it is a show car, I wouldn't worry. By the time you spill a bit of oil on it, and general grime builds up, you won't notice. If you're not rebuilding the motor, all I can suggest is getting a dremel with a wire bruch tip, and spend a few days polishing. |

hit it with lots of degreaser ($2 / a can at repco + many other places), scraper, paint brush, wire brush on your drill..... |
