Post subject:  Mirage in a mini?

what i'm thinking of doing is shoehorning a mirage engine into a clubman.

heres a few links i've found totry and figure out if it will fit:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mitsubishi-Mirag ... dZViewItem
http://www.internetautoguide.com/car-sp ... hi/mirage/
http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/18624/
http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/18640/
http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/18637/

i've had mixed reactions from my mates who own minis and mirages, including one who races both. so i'm wondering will it fit a clubby, moding of the bay is expected, it wasnt build for a mini, so generaly speaking.. possible?!

my original idea was the 4g63 (aka lancer Evo) but i think i'd need a moke for that.... :P
i've talked to a few people who race they were 50/50 and so far i'm 50/50 on it which is why i'm bringin it here..

why put a mirage motor in there at all?? may as well put a hyundai excel motor in there even there got more power......

Trust me there slugs, missus had one and i think her 1098cc mini was quicker.

If you have to go a 1.6L mitsubishi motor then makka is right get the mivec twin cam jap version with 150hp.

I saw this add not long ago.

well i think i may soon have access to a cyborg engine (mivec) it aint an easy motor to get hold of, with only 4 'new' raceing mivec's beeing made avalible in the last 8-9months from japan, but i think i have hooked one from a mate who is reciving one of the 'new' ones, so it wont be perfect but nothing ever is.

now to go measure... and decide if a turbo is worth it on a mivec

A turbo is always worth it - they might not let you register it though!

i'm a bit divided on that one awdmoke... i'm a supercharger man myself, so the cross to the dark side of hairdryers....
yea i think the problem i'll have is trying to put too much power into the mini and convincing them that its safe! well that and the insurence costs  i'm still under 25 :P

its more than likely possible but as a few have said... it would be more worth a twin cam excel,or the MIVEC motors

Back when I was 13 years old and in to the Fast and Furious, I used to buy Hot 4's mags (my dream car at the stage was an S13 Silvia, I'm glad I saw the light on that one!  ).

Anyways, there was a "Mivic Mirage" which was supercharged. It made 210hp atws, or so it says at least. Pretty good, but a 4EFTE can make 200hp atws going all out, if not more hp, maybe?

Why not try the Nissan SR16 Neo VVT engine......

Image

Nissan Pulsar N15 SR16 VVL Neo- good engine. 8500rpm and over 200HP naturally aspirated!

Look at the laws in your state, see whats possible and simply go for what will fit with the most power
