Well Stripey, never wanting to be one to disappoint. I have an entry a few messages below about getting the alternator and the driveshafts in, which is the big news at the moment. The item to come on the weekend are the installation of the Fuel Pump system and if I get time hook up the master cylinders. I have also finished (well kinda) the remote oil filter system...Just need to find some 5/16 metal tubing to make a slightly sharper curve rather than use hose...

Oh I have also completely finished the gearchange so that's done to, just some minor painting to the underside of the car.

You could get the whole line made in copper c/w the fittings on each end.
That would look neat. Not sure on cost though

Yeah AWD that's an idea but cost is a factor. Also given that the remote is static but then engine moves I wouldn't mind some kind of flexible tubing somewhere inline. this is the least of my worries...But things are progressing. The rest of the stuff is pretty easy as far as having to create some special piece of kit or fabricate something...

Matt, you couldnt leave the oil filter in the original position? mine fits in and is pretty easy to change to

God yeah I so want to but a few things to sort out before then but god yeah. Put the exhaust in and overall pretty good but hits on the frame at one point . Still not a biggy. As for the oil filter mine must sit just a tad lower than yours because my filter sat on the front mount area hence the remote system... Once again not a big problem to solve...Also with your return line through the level sender what did you do to seal the hole where the pipe goes through was it welded?

What pressure is that blue hose rated to? And are they Supercheap hoseclamps... they strip easy.
Nasty if it blows.
I'd use 400psi hydraulic hose from Pirtek or Enzed, and their push-on barb fittings to suit, with the yellow retainer rings. Won't blow off then...

Doc I got all the fitting and hose from Enzed. The hose is rated to 400 and I got the clips from them I may go back and get a better batch. But the hose I think is fine.

Also I have ground away the bit of the frame where the exhaust was hitting so that should be the exhast done once and for all. Also brad if your on which one was the oxy sensor on the old dump pipe on the starlet as I just remembered that before I put it in for the last time I should weld a nut on to place the oxy sensor. Small job.

Will we need the other sensor as well? How will the computer react with one sensor missing???

Mime as it was explained to me by Brad the second sensor is the cat sensor and is basically a sensor to indicated the cat is "full" or had the richard. Doesn't really have any input into things like the ECU or anything so can essentially be left hangin'. Brad??

yeh guys you only need the o2 sensor installed into the dump pipe, the other one as matt said is a cat sensor not needed. The o2 sensor is the smaller of the 2, It looks like a small metal bee hive, the cat one has a real long prong that would probbaly not fit in your pipe anyway.

Brad is it death if you touch the "beehive" ive heard that if you touch some sensor the contaminants ruin them? Anyway got it out of the old dumppipe so off to specialty fasteners on the weekend to find a nut that will go on the end so I can weld it to the exhaust!
