What do you guys think about sending my mini clubman up to MR Enforcer in NSW to get the complete engine conversion done and subframe made.

How many conversions have they done ? and are they to be trusted.

Have Mr enforcer got competitive prices and approximetley how long would it take,

And I very last thing (I promise) if they quote for example if they say 3 months and I say take your time and spend 5 months will they charge less because I am giving them plenty of time to complete it. :D :D :D :) :( :D

surely there is a workshop down there that could do it? have you rung anoyone?

Matt at enforcer has done 3 now, mine, baracades and the gold clubbie. He requires the mini with stripped engine bay, and starlet motor/ box/ gearshifter/ engine mounts all there.

I think about 3 grand will get you the frame made, motor/box/shifter all bolted in with driveshafts fitted. Then extras like fuel system, brake lines, alternator, wiring, exhaust, brakes are all able to be done but extra $$$$

before anything is done make sure you have the ok from an engineer that you can get it legal down there, also good to find out what he requires brake wise.

Yeah I would go Vic Roads as a first step. Or try one of the Ricer mags as they oftern have ads for places that do engine conversion and engineering in house. Or even the yellowpages, I just typed in Engineer Automotive in the yellows and 3488 entries came up I am sure you can find one in there...

Small side note, did mr enforcer engineer it themselves or did you have someone else do it brad, just interested, as at some point i could see a converstion happening.

Cheers

no matt at mr enforcer is not able to write up engineers papers. He uses the same guy everytime though. The engineer has done 100's of cars for him and now knows how good his work is and believes that matts work is some of the best he looks at.

Most sydney workshops are very un helpful towards the engineer, having cars under covers, in the back corners of worksops in the dark, not 100% completed etc... But matt gets his cars out in the carpark, in the sun easy to inspect.

Lets just say i dont think mat has been nocked back ever for a car.

Cool thanks mate, makes it easier when you can get the shop to talk direct to the certifier, and that sounds like what Matt does. I wonder if he would do an open day kinda thing with Baracades and your cars there as examples of what he does for mini's? Just a thought?

Cheers

Aaron

What do you guys think of Link Automotive, have they got a good reputation or not?
Also if I asked Link Automotive to do the Engine conversion would they know what to do just like Mr enforcer does or would I have to guide them though it.

Thanks Again :)

I am a fan of Link. Great guys, great advice, no forceful sales - really know their Minis and Mokes. But engine conversions? I didn't know they offered this service.

I've heard Minis Plus (aka Pistons Auto Parts) have done a NA Micra engine into a Clubman. It may be worth trying them.

Minis Plus say that they are not prepared to attempt a starlet engine conversion. So it may have to be Mr enforcer. Does anybody know of the cost of transporting a mini up to Sydney from Melb on a car transporter.

MiniGTI - This is purely just a thought but my engineer here in Canberra built a replica XJ13 Jaguar from scratch (inc Chassis), maybe you might like to contact him. Also M&A Engineering up here also do conversions (not sure if that extends to Mini's). A little closer to Melb, just a thought. PM me and I can give you their details.

Good idea, they are likely as anyone to do it.

Mmmm, dreaming of a Starlet into Mini subframe kit, like the FX-HR Holden V8 kits...
