i recommend you use a big throttle body at the same time Eg: Commodore / falcon, 8) :twisted: let us know if you need one

ok guys,

I am a automotive retard..... :?

was wanting to ask what would seem to everyone else a stupid question...

I am doing the starlet conversion to my mini as well & was wondering which engine is better?

ep82 or ep91?

well their's more EP81's out there cause their older, and generally done more k's

their the same motor. The 91 had a dual stage boost switch on the dash. but expect to pay more for a 91


IMO: if you want to mod the engine at all buy a 81 you will have it modded and change left over when a 91 is better if you want to pay more for a newer motor

My EP82 has the dual stage boost switch ??

I think the main difference in Between the two was that the EP82 has a external coil whilst the EP91 has the coil built into the dizzy.

As far as blocks, heads crank rods etc they are the same. The wiring and computer is a little bit different between the two, so you are unable to swap computers.

I have heard people say that the EP91 has a few extra HP's (2-5) but i think this is not true.

That may be based on the CT9a (EP81) v CT9b (EP92) I reckon. The H/P may not differ but I am led to believe the spooling of the ct9b is better.

Thanks Paul, Went with an SR20 on it - hopefully it should be finished early next week :cry: thanks for the offer :D

He is ok - waiting for manifold - the rear engine mount collapsed though so i need to fix that. Will be pushed for dyno day - still needs to be tuned too and blueslipped :(
