Couple of quick questions

Where do you buy the rubber that goes between the flare and the body?

Would those arches fit my car??

Dan

Josh,

Did you try those wheel and tyre combo at full lock with those arches???

That is where the problem lies.

Cheers,
Tricky

yes we tried it on full lock, and yes the body work will need to be modified as is the case with most 13's. The arches will bend a bit so he should be able to reshape them.

Cheers
Aaron

The rubber comes from W&P themselves..but i can almost guarantee that Clark Rubber would have something identical. W&P aren't particularly helpful i think, when i rang them up they said they had plenty of archces but no rubber strip. Surely you can get rubber strip somewhere else?

They would fit your car great Dan, i think they'd look good.

If W&P prove too hard i've started to widen my options..

Tricky, i tested my rims on Aarons van at lock, but i think a perfect fit with a cutting of the guard and shaping the arch to suit should be fine.

I saw the beast in the flesh yesterday, boy- da Bling is shiny!!
Very nice... :D
My only concern is the fuel cell in the boot with the battery, and no `deck filler'.
Even if no fuel is spilled whilst filling it, that boot space will fill with the fumes being displaced from the tank. And, like all Minis made, the boot area is not sealed off from the cabin... there are gaps both sides of the rear seat.:?
One spark from anywhere, and Kaboom.
I'd be putting a flush filler (bike tank one or whatever) in original spot, and piping it into the fuel cell/tank. 8)

Ok update time, just for you

There's a few more weeks yet to go, just lots of little finishing touches that are taking time.

We've all spent alot of time on the dash and i'm happy with how it's turned out so far, it's made from 3.5mm sheet Aluminium and shaped to the dash, using M10 allen head bolts to secure it to some brackets behind the dash.

At the moment it is off getting covered in carbon fiber 8) will be done in a week or two..

Took the flares off..

Brad and Em pulling the old steering column apart, thanks to Aaron for helping me find a column :)

This is the start of the dash making...well a bit into it at least..
Here is duk using his engineering skills for measuring..

You get the idea..

A new harness is being made for all the wiring with a custom fuse box and relays. That'll be a week or two to get installed and setup.

List of things left to do.

- put driveshafts in.
- get wheel alignment/setup suspension
- get new flares and put them on
- install fuel regulator
- wire up all the electricals
- put car on weigh bridge
- get ecu installed and tuned
- wait for dash to finish
