Hi Slinkey,

we are still undicided about the Radiator,

options that weare thinking about are, under the boot with a top mounted fan, in the boot, or another thing we have been thinking of is one of those ultra thin radiators that we could jam in the front somewhere!

thats about as far as that part has gone, A lot of people recommend under the boot, but we are still not sure,

if you think of anything let me no!

Been talking to my dad, as I probably will be looking at another 850 body this week.

I'm thinking a custom made grille, that's not a grille. It would be a radiator for 3/4 with an intercooler for a 1/4, or more likely, a raditor grille, skinny but wide, and the top mount intercooler with big bonnet scoop.

I'm definitely going to do an eingione coversion sometime within the next few years but will start getting parts, together when they come up.

But undecided to go with roundy or clubby.

Clubby would be easy, but a roundy 4EFTE would be somethig different from the norm and be the only one in SA, I think.

thats exactly what we were thinking with the radiator in the front!!...

roundy's just look better! LoL! (sorry leyland fans)

I have never been a fan of bonnet scoops but "minimetoy" has a home made one that looks really good!! he made it out of 2 bonnets & I think it looks fantastic!

looks real effective & simple without that crazy over the top look to it!

This is the radiator i have in my car atm, there is still not alot of room upfront for a radiator, exhaust and the turbo... Dont forget the radiator also needs water piping to it

Thanks for that Gordo,

thats what I was trying to say!! haha

how you have your radiator seems like a pretty good Idea,

hey what does everyone think about this....

with the conversion, me & my mates that are doing it cant decide on where to run the exhaust.. some are saying to run it down the back but im more wanting to go with what "minimetoy" has done with his by running it through the front...

the reason I want to run it through the front is mainly for access, & by the time everything else gets in the Engine bay, its going to be pretty jam packed!! & I just dont see it being very easy to run the exhaust down the back of the engine,

fair enough in a lelyand as there is more room,

but with the morris's its a bit different...

any suggestions on which way we should go?

The exhaust run's down the front on all the conversions? The exhaust ports on the 4EFTE come out the front of the head (as opposed to the rear on the A-series) - this will dictate where the piping goes :)

sorry I should have been more specific....

Some people are running the exhaust down the back behind the engine from the turbo which they are putting above the gearbox,

but other people have ran the exhaust piping back down the front of the motor & underneith..

this one has the exhaust running down the front & under the motor from the turbo sitting on top of the gearbox,

but other people have ran it from the turbo on top of the gearbox straight down the back of the motor rather than bringing it down the front...

which do people think would be better?

Dean's BIGBAD is the only one i can think of from the top of my head that has the exhaust running down the back of the motor - but everything about his is extreme.

You would be best running it down the front and tucking it under the gearbox - this is how it ran from the factory.

Dean has a different intake manifold and a modified cooling system (i think with no themostat aswell) This gives him plenty of room behind the motor.

My suggestion is to install your gear linkage cable first, decide how you are going to run your water pipes, connect your speedo cable and have a look at how you will install al your vacumm lines and wiring, oh and your fuel lines, then your decision will b real easy

Also Dean's motor is further foward than mine because he has more room in the engine bay :(

cheers everyone,

thanks again minimetoy, AI agree that there is just not going to be enough room & I agree that it should come down the front, but I am just having trouble convincing my mechanic mate who wants to do it down the back...

will work it out im sure!!! :?

will do gears links & all the other stuff & im sure it will be pretty apparent on where the left over bits will have to go!
