No hint of restrictions to 20% etc.

Sounds like scare-mongering to me!!

Dan,

I am not too concerned about the 20% rule. I have investigated the matter with my Engineer, and his response was as follows.......

1. What new rule?? We will be going to DOTARS in 2007, but this does not affect engine replacement capacity or horsepower other than what is already in play
2. Even if the new rule does come to fruition, it will take at least 18-24 months to ratify and then come into force.
3. If you can prove that you started the conversion before this, you would most likely be able to apply for exemption/relaxation anyway.

So, when the new rules are agreed, documented, ratified, passed in Parliament then signed off by all the states and territories, thats when I will take notice......

Until then, its a case of dont believe all that you read.
