Hi guys!

The beast is finally registered!!!
I am very excited ( couldn't go to sleep last night.. thinking about what the RTA guys can pin me on!)

When I took the car down it was a whole different story. I couldn't have had a nicer inspector looking over the car. Best of all, all his mates were mini nuts apparently!
All the guys were too busy taking photos from their mobiles and taking about the project with me.

No major issues came up during the inspection. The dude was quite happy with the quality of the car. He was all smiles when he took it for a spin :D ( mind you I did have it on 'Low' boost setting )

Got a set of premium number plates + 6 months rego and she's on the road now!!!!

Thanks for all the help along the way guys, especially to Ben (92). If you ever want to meet up sometime, just let me know (pm me)

Next items on the list:
1) fit me brand spanking new 13x6 minilites on with yokos
2) Get the boost controller set up
3) fix up boost gauge
4) start turbo swap!

Will keep everyone posted

On another note.. while I was there waiting for my ticket, I took the time to ask the guys what they thought of a mid mounted bike engined mini.. they said they can;t see any dramas with it apart from the emissions which they said I can get around!.. Looks like that one is a goer! :P

basically I fixed the starlet wiper motor and then pretty much installed the reciprocating mechanism off the mini wiper motor behind the firewall on the shaft. So all the moving mechanisms are behind the dash.

I think it looks very neat when you look at the engine bay.. I'll post some pics up of it soon ( I gotta get a camera first tomorrow!)

Cheers

no worries.

Just wondering.. where you got those racing mirrors from? they look very sleek. I'm trying to get away from using too much chrome on my car

Exactly what I thought, since the car aren't original anymore.
No point to have too much chrome.

I got it off a mate 4yrs ago.
But hardly see it sell in Australia. The brand is C-West from japan.
They produce this mirror to suit for Nissan S15 when it came out.
I believe you have seen this mirror quite often if you have follow the japanese drift video.

C-West website (USA Version)
http://www.c-westusa.com/aero/s15.asp
you can find Aus C-West reseller in Overseas Dealers section
Better to email them, back in few years ago I can find this product for sell in C-West website from Japan. I try to look for you just now but nothing there.

The actual mirror size are almost big like a standard size compare to other carbon fibre mirror made for Fomular Ford car are to slim and narrow.

Highly recommend, very nice quality and really light weight.

hi guys,

finally got a camera and my new wheels. They look good but havent had a proper chance to try them on the road. I just took it around the block to see if it rubs anywhere and she's all good.
The sticky tyres sure do pick up A LOT of pebbles and throw it against the inner guards!

First off we have the old wheels on the car: - good view of the cooler

me new tyres + rims

comparison - new wheels seem bigger for some reason

The new tyres stick out an extra inch or so I have to look at some bigger flares. I am thinking of making the flares glossy black. What does everyone think?

Also, this is the first time I hooked up the boost controller. I mainly use it as a boost gauge ( I like digital readouts :P )
It has two settings: duty cycle and gain. duty cycle is to do with actual boost setting and gain is to do with how quickly boost rises. Does anyone have any experience with GIZZMO controllers??

Now its time to think about a turbo swap.. getting pretty bored of the CT9 already. once you feel the G's.. that becomes your reference point and you want more G's!!

I know a few of you have been using the KKR turbo with good results. Its either a TD04L or a KKR280 (is some other TD?? off a forrester which meant to be smaller)?

Thanks in advance guys

Cheers
