Okay, who's up for giving this a try??

BTW Matt - received my approval in writing from QLD Transport on Thursday, its full steam ahead now. Engineer is confident that all is done to his satisfaction.

He is doing the subframe inspection next week, should be interesting.

Well done mate, that didn't take long did it  , well good luck with the subframe. Given that our subframes are essentially say 70% comparable, if yours passes theoretically mine should too (he says laughing to himself). Also just curious what kind of things did you have to include in the document to generate 60pages?

this looks very interesting. So has anyone got dimensions? Would the 1.5 echo engine be smaller than a starlet 1.3? What does everyone think about fitting one of these into a roundnose?

Brad that link you sent with the turbo yaris has an interesting comparison in power. It losses a lot in the bottom end. I cant find any engine specs.

Minstar - I have emailed you the "Tome" for your enjoyment. Please keep it sacred and enjoy it.

Minster (God, that could get confusing after a few pints) - I would still stick with the Starlet motor. Being turbo from factory the internals may be a bit stronger and forged pistons etc may have been used. Have you thought about the Daihatsu CB70?. My next challenge is to convince my mate Tony that he needs one.........

Amazingly...I read that Yaris is number six in sales lately....which means more spare engines out there for conversions 8)

Yeah in the motor vehicle industry, it's no wonder they are 6th in the sales ladder!

How would a mini with RWD go traction wise? :?

Why go rotery when a commodore V6 fits in a roundie (move the fire wall back about 4 inches and reposition the rad)

Much better and lighter versions available , mitsy 3 litre V6 twin turbo would fit nicely in the front subframe , if only it could be registered ....

I've long thought the Echo Sportivo (1.5 VVti) would be a good conversion. But I've never had a chance to measure it yet and see how it looks.

I thought about going to the local Toyota dealer and measuring one on the sales lot - "Sorry mate, not interested in the car, just want to measure the engine."
