The presence and/or severity of torque steer in the case of these conversions obviously depends on a lot of things. Presumably Toyota were happy to go with uneven shafts on the starlet and got it to work OK. Why they then fitted even length shafts to the Trueno (or whatever model it was that had the 20V) who knows.

I just want to explore all the avenues to make sure I get the best result. I'll have to get two shafts made up either way. Two the same may even be slightly cheaper??

Having a good alignment would certainly help with torque steer, and lots of other handling traits. What sort of settings did you end up with?

Cheers

yep thats the extension shaft.
My extension shaft is still the standard length and both drive shafts are the same at about 280mm. When I made the subrame the engine was positioned central with drive shaft outputs not just where the engine looked good so is slighty more to the passengers side than most 4efte conversions.
I also have a starlet GT and it torque steers not real bad but bad enough for a standard engine hence why I chose to fit even shafts in my conversion which will end up having more that standard output from the 4efte

Thanks for the info guys.

Got an extension shaft this morning. Will head out to the shed now to see if it fits.

Cheers
