from the talk in this thread i thought I might ask. What would people be willing to pay for my car??? I want to hear from people doing conversions, and those who are interested in them. Give me a rough estimate of what you would pay.

Cheers

I haven't seen it in person, been in it or driven it. But from what I've seen and read about how much work has gone into it. I'd be happy to hand over around $20K if I had that kind of money

although, even with the work that has been done to this motor, the amount you would have to spend on an a series to get close, i still managed 627km off my last tank. so i dont think 600+km's from under 33 litres is that bad.

5 litres per 100 K's is bloody awesome - my cooper S is double that....

I reckon just about any hybrid is worth over 20K.... as long as everything is sorted, bolted down and sweet, it makes a cheap & fun rocket for someone who can't build their own

ONe the way to Hay my 1330cc Cooper S got about 8-9 litres/100km and 110kph. So yeah your car at 6 per 100km is awesome, especially for a performance car!

mnnnnnn tough question but i quess it comes down to what people are willing to pay and i quess the problem is the way i see it is that any mini people with money are elderly and want what they couldnt have when they were younger maybe that red cooper s or racing green cooper with a worked 1310 and all original interiors etc
and most people who want a hybrid want to do it themselves so its a toughie but ask me and its worth the money but im biased

maybe just say its a stocko cooper s and most will believe you an buy

im keen to get rid of it but need to cover a loan. I ve spent way over the loan, so in the scheme of things i would take under 20k, only just under mind you, but the way I figured it if someone offered over 20k I would pay for shipping or freight.

yeah the fuel economy side of things is great. specially when you consider driving a commodore or falcon normally doesn't get near this, and my mazda six averages around 9L/100km.

Hey Simon,

Your Mini gets the same fuel economy as my 3.0ltr TD Patrol.

GTi - good luck with the sale, just hang in there, someone will buy it.

Cheers,
Tricky

I think 20K is very fair, I have seen a few photo's of it along it's way and I think it's very impressive.

Their's not alot of conversions out there as complete and neat as yours.
I think that if I didn't want to do the toyota conversion then 20grand for a seemingly sorted mini ith the lot is a great idea.

IMO 14 grand for a factory cooper is too much a good conversion will kill it in every way. apart from a total putist. and who hasn't seen the benifit's of EFI by now

ha ha you could buy it and both. N/A power and Turbo power. lol.

from the semi drags i've had anything in WA with an Aseries motor has nothing. Unless of course they have a blower or some description. I've even had a run against an Apendix J race car. Worked 1300 or similar pushing close to 90hp atw, beat him, and he had no interior either, I had full interior and stereo. lol

But from the point of view of someone who has done a jap engine into a mini, how much will it cost to someone who (most likely not me lol) know what they are doing? PS. I know this may offend purists. I love my mini as it is a mini with a mini engine, which still manages to kick my mates 70s and 80s cars away, Escorts, geminis, commodores etc. But i do beleive that putting say a honda 1.6 inot in a mini is like keeping a mini like a mini, fun to drive etc but making it reliadble and fast. Why wouldn't it be wort over 20grand. Some Rover Coopers sell for close to that but are not nearly as good.

Personally i have a mini already (obviously) and i'm putting a 4EFTE in...now it will probably cost me close to 20k by the end of it.

BUT instead of buying your car, i get something that i have built to my taste exactly the way I want and meets all my needs and criteria without compromise.

If I bought your car, there would be things i would change which would drive the price up alot.

Well, for example Matt what would you change??? Just for questions sake. lol

oh yeah slinkey, you don't have to worry bout just beating 70's and 80's cars. I've beaten a 2005 SV6 commodore. gives you and idea. I'm yet to race something like a rex but i think with decent road and my news tyres I would be able to get one. never know.

Josh? ;)

Well..for starter..i'd have to chop that front off and put a club...no wait..er seriously...

Not really a huge fan of suzuki for starters, but say i was, the only thing that i personally would change on your car is the 80's dash that was used out of the doner car. It just looks like the easy way out rather than doing something nice and modern to go with it. Especially with all the work that has gone into everything else, and now that you have an aftetrmarket ECU? you can add alot of custom guages and stuff easily that can interface with it.

But other things like colour, my car is already sprayed in a colour i like. Whereas yellow isn't a particular favourite. That being said, i'm not the one buying your car, you just have to wait for someone to come along who like the colour and the 80's dash and everything else. That person will pay top dollar :)

 Hate to say it but in the order of thngs your wants and choices come 3rd after the engineer and th RTA but you still get to keep the colour your choice
