Well, I've been busy paying for the work I've done on the mini so far, so I'v been a bit quiet on ausmini for the past few months, but I have done quite a bit of substantial work on the mini.
Firstly, I got several of the major systems working / finished. These include the exhaust, driveshafts/cvs, brakes and dashboard/gauges.
Exhaust is 2.5" with blitz cast dump pipe, magnaflow high flow cat, & Lukey muffler, with twin 2.5" stainless tips. its pretty burbley at idle and has a great rasp to it higher in the revs.

looks good too, if I do say so myself!
The drive shafts I got made by Rotomotion in Perth. These ended up taking a fair while to get back, due to waiting for the heat treaters. They are turned from new billets and ended up costing me just on $900 including postage to Kalgoorlie.
As far as the brakes go, I ended up biting the bullet and buying a brand new dual circuit m/c and these squeeze juice into my minisport alloy 4 pots and rear drums with smaller dia cylinders. They seem to be a pretty good step up from the cooper s disks I had on it, even though I still need to bleed them properly.
As for the dash, I've sorted a few electrical gremlins I had and fitted relays to the lighting system. cut off switches were also added.
I also have just about got my seating sorted out with a set of wrx sti seats. They fit okay and are the most comfortable seats my arse has ever felt. The driver's side mounts were being painted when this pic was taken.
I have also added a small reservior to the intercooler cooling system that seems to be keeping the temps under control at this stage.
This weekend I've started tackling a bit of the rust and body repairs, which have just got a bit harder, as just after these photos were taken I reached through the window to start the motor, but it was in 1st gear, and it took off and drove itself into the garage!!

I ended up jumping in and stopped it, but not before the open door hit a toolbox!!

big scratch, small dent, but its all fixable, so oh well...
I also took it for a few drives and I must say it goes pretty well!!

I definitely need a wheel alignment done, but the guys who have fitted bigger turbos to these must have shares in tyre companies because mine is standard except for exhaust /inlet and it just wheel spins all over the place - It is on falkens though

(soon to change)
I now just have to do a few little tidying bits and a couple of body repairs and extensive (private

) road testing and tweaking and its ready for the engineer to approve and get rego!!

I can't wait.
