Well had a weekend of ups and downs. Took me 4 hours to sort out the leak in the tank and then with alligator clips hooking certain things up I decided to bite the bullet and turn her over. She did and what, ran smooth as. So I reckon she will be on the road by the end of January all going well.

Cheers

Matt

Thanks Bara yeah mate you should have seen me last night jumping around like and idiot. Man it is just such a relief. You know it should work but how many times have I done something and it hasn't so for her to fire up first go and so smoothly is a great relief.

I call ed in for a short time earlier in the day....Matt has done some tremendous work.

Well done Matt....

I thought you would have had to sort all that spaghetti junction out on the drivers side floor before giving it a go....fantastic :!:

Thinking about the accelerator, durrrrhh, just whip the end of the arm on the front cut with a hack saw or grinder and weld it on to the Mini one

Also for cable travel...I should have measured how far the cable was moving when you had it connected to the throttle body sector....that will give you the distance it need s to travel backwards and forwards from your firewall (inside).

PS sorry for dislodging the screwdriver mate....I had nightmares about that one last night

Yeah mate that screwdriver caused all sorts of problems as it lodged in the starter motor, sorry mate just joking. Yeah I had to alligator clip the last earthing point to the dash but everthing else is connected in some form so she was right to go. No leaks in either the cooling system or the remote oil filter which is an added bonus...

That's awesome, I have been watching you with some intrest, I have even seen the project, and I really think that it will be a little winner, great work, and I know it's been a major headache through some of it, but now it's time to just enjoy your hard work

congrats, and look forward to seeing you on the road in the ACT soon

Bloody oath Rodney, I can't lie I was happily surprised at just how smooth it was given that I have no idea how long it sat out in the rain in QLD for. The oxidisation on the aluminium bits was well evident. I did take the valve cover off and the cams aren't even scored so I think she had an easy 93,000kms. Also it will interesting to see if those two black boxes that I found on the loom are fuel cut defencer items.

Hi Matt,

Well done me Ol' Mucka.

You've done a wonderful job and whats more, you've done it nearly all by yourself.

I take my hat off to you Matt - pioneering stuff.

Cant wait till you tell us all how she drives.

Regards,
Andrew
