howdy guys 'n' gals,

My partners car was recently hit by some tot who obviously shouldn't have a licence... the end result is the Mrs having cracked the sh1ts and giving up on her beloved Paseo has decided fixing it will take too much time and is now getting the big sister, an ST184R celica... this leaves me with a rather tempting thought.... i have 2 clubman shells, and neither has an engine atm. i was thinking of going with a nice 1275 for one and tossing up wether or not to go with a twinky/ vtec/ *insert endless possibilities here* for the other...

so, i now have a Paseo that the Mrs has 'said fairwell to' and was wondering if any people on here know of minis out there with this donk? i know the 5e is slightly taller and i'm not sure if the engine mounts are in the same location.. but i'd like to know if it's been done and/or if it will fit.

now that i'm done rambling on, i'd like to hear any thoughts or experiences involving this.

Cheers.

The Sera and Paseo both use the 5EFE and I've seen 4EFTE engines fitted to both. Allegedly it was a bolt in swap so the 5EFE should fit in a subframe designed for a 4EFTE. I don't think a little extra height would be an issue, given there is no intercooler on top to worry about.

Cheers,

Yep should fit - just check what gearbox is used as it may be different - i know the flywheels are different between the two.

yeah, unfortunately it's only the 5efe, it's out of a stock paseo... i'm pretty sure the 5efhe was left to the better equivilents of the model, ie, tecel, sera, maybe some others i can't think of, well i'm pretty sure it's only an fe... would very much concider puttting the intenals of the fhe in there tho... it's all still in fetal stage at the moment..
