Hi, Im looking at starting to build a 4efte clubman. My plan is to get the car on the road, resprayed and a cage and bucket seats put in with a series power. And build an engine on a subframe separately with brakes and suspension attached to it.
The idea being ill have an assembly built, to reduce the amount of time it takes to put the engine in the car.
Is this a good idea? or is there too much fabrication involved to the engine bay?

The other question i have (at this stage) is where to get a subframe. I dont think im up to building one, and they seem to be the slowest part of the project. Can anyone give me info on where to get one or who to talk to?
Cheers,
Joe

I looked at JCs on the net. Looks great but i dont have the money to start off with. Was going to make it more a progressive thing over time.

Btw Tricky, whats an approximate cost of getting a subframe to your design fabricated to fit a clubman? And could i take that subframe to an engineer and get it passed?

Cheers, Joe
