Well unfortunately I've had another blow to my mini driving experience.... my clutch pressure plate has let go. Now I have small amount of mechanical knowhow, but this is extending beyond my skills.
The engine has to come out for this change to happen and was wondering if anyone in perth was able to help me out.........

No thanks. Had to do it on my swift and had to pull the whole left hand strut etc out to get the box out

Don't think the Mini is going to be easier somehow, dare say motor will have to come out maybe

I would have to say most definitely.

Grab and engine crane, a new sports clutch, some mates and some beer, and make a day of it.

Who knows, you may learn something!

You will learn working on minis is painful, add band aids and a swear jar to the list of things needed
It shouldn't be that bad just work slow and smart  .

a thorough inspection of the subframe might be a good idea too - checking for stress & cracks
