I have a 2 litre 4g63 AWD mitsubishi RVR. Last week it was clipped by a bus. If they right if off I'm going to buy it back and put the gear into a mini. Having been involved in quite a few engine conversions now and measured quite a few different configurations I'm confident it will fit in a clubman. No way it will fit in a Morris.

speed, if you are building this for your fiance, how much power/torque steer do you want(conversion) and how easy do you want it to be to drive (worked a-series???), if you want a reliable, rev happy car, thats quick enough to have fun, but wont break down, either get an injected 1275 from a late model mini, or rebuild the 998 with a balanced bottom end, a Mild cam and a nice head, with a single hif44 carb, either of these will be fun, reliable (GET AN ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTER :) ) and you wont have to cut/weld anything, AND you should get change out of $5k 8)
my $0.03nz

But I like cutting up stuff !

With all seriousness, I don't t think that the torque steer or loss of traction will be too much of a problem, provided the driver can drive!

If you can fit the 4g63, then I'll get away with the 93, provided your not lengthening the sub-frame.

Just quietly.. who has a descent car and doesn't have an insurance policy that enables you first option to buy the wreck. Good luck buying it back from the insurance company.

Apparantly the RVR is a de-tuned version of the EVO/Gallant VRS power plants.

Not sure but I would expect that the power to weight of this combination would be too great for the original weight of the car. SOmeone please tell me I'm wrong... Would be good to see a 4WD EVO powered Mini though. Maybe then you could line up the guy with the WRX powered moke. hahaha
