Were the original dip switch's in the Mini K / Mk2 Mini's dated and marked with "Lucas"? I know the early round based ones were, but not sure about the later ones. |

My 6/69 K (approx.) has no date or even brand name on the dip switch. Attachment: Mini K Dip Switch.jpg I can't find the switch for the Mk 2 at the moment but now realise it should also have had a terminal block for the wires, like the K. Instead, the wires have non-original terminals where the pickup for the driving lights must have been made. There wasn't a lot of insulation between the terminals and the metal floor! My Mk2 has the floor mounted dip switch, plus the indicator stalk has provision for dipper switch. How straightforward is it to direct the wiring from the floor to the dipper switch on the steering column? Sent from my SM-A305YN using Tapatalk |

I thought about doing that, and also wanted the high beam flasher facility. But the high/low beam on the stalk still only works when the light switch on the dash is "on" first. |

I still get a giggle out of BMC/Leyland cutting the flasher wires on the Mini in 1969 when they had been producing the Morris 1100 with headlight flashers for about three years already. |

I just took some photos of the dip switch from my 1968 Mk1 Cooper S. This is what the switch looks like... Attachment: Dip_Switch.jpg Attachment: Dip_Switch_02.jpg Attachment: Dip_Switch_03.jpg

Thanks all for the info and photo's. It is not that hard to change the dip switch from the original floor one to the indicator switch on the Mk2's or Mini K, but I would install a relay on the high beam. The Mk2 style indicator switch has a habit of melting down if used for the dip switch, especially if higher watt globes are used. |
