Hey all just had my mini out for the day. Haven’t driven it a lot in the last 12 months. But got home and noticed that coolant was weeping from in between the head and block near the engine number. I have looked around the area thermostat housing is dry and so is temp sender. Should I be concerned as I haven’t drove it for a while? The coolant has only dropped down the neck of the radiator. Any help?

Sometimes they weep, especially on really hot days or lots of high speed runs when the cooling system really gets up to pressure. Just watch the level until you become comfortable with the gasket.

Great reason to fit an overflow/expansion tank!

What head gasket? Copper ones haven't been great since they took asbestos out of them all, decades ago.
Current composition gaskets seal better.

It might also be a good idea to retighten the head.

Doc. I’m not sure what type of gasket it is. Grieg at mini classic last done it so I went with his recommendations. Will give him a call next week.
