Hi,

Looking to buy a set of tyres for my 1963 850, using original 3.5" rims, and would like some opinions on which tyre might be suitable.

Local tyre joint has 2 brands - the Falken SN807 and the Maxxis CR966. Both about the same price around $110.

Being an 850 it not going to be a racer but I'd like a good safe tyre.

Cheers, Rocky

The Falkens are ok, I had them with my 998.

The Maxxis are light truck/trailer tyres, so might be a bit stiff for a mini

I've got those Falkens on my old tinny's trailer, they're 14 years old, hardly worn and no cracks at all.
Good cases to last this long. I'd replace them but they're way more expensive now and boat is only towed short distances.
I tyre black them both sides with Kitten.

Thanks Timmy and Doc.

Hopefully after all the work I'm putting into bringing Minnie back to life, I'll wear out this set of tyres before they're 14 years old. Unless of course we're still under lockdown under Dan the man.
