Replacing pin drive oil pump in my S engine. The new pump is Mini Spares C-AEG410 which has four bolt holes. The old pump was a three bolt HE type pump (Birmingham 5367-C stamped on the body) and the bolts were secured with a half moon all in one lock washer.

The body on the old pump was slightly wider than the MS one meaning the old bolts are too long and bottom out. I can cut the old bolts down a bit to overcome this, but the old lock washer won't fit of course. Did the four bolt pumps use spring washers under the bolt heads? no washers? or was there a special all in one lock washer set up for this pump too?

Fit new spring washers and shorten the bolts.
For peace of mind you could Loctite the threads but I've never had them come loose.

Thanks Doc, I didn't think there was a continuous lock tab washer for the 4 bolt pumps.
