Hey everyone, Doing new wheel bearings and noticed the drive flange on one side looks to be damaged. I'm assuming this is too badly gone? Anyone have a good second hand set? Or am I better off new? |

Buy new, they are still available, except Cooper 997-998. |

So bumping this back up. Received new drive flanges after a bit of hassle. One of the new flanges had a too larger shaft that the collar didnt even fit onto - which got replaced easy. Replacement one appears to be thinner than the other new one I received by 0.89mm (approx) Is this concerning? Should I take them back to ensure they're the same? |

Can't comment if fitting both is an issue but are they the same manufacturer and/or part number? Any common identifying marks on them? |

Instead of making a new topic I thought I'd continue here. Started to piece the hubs back together with new bearings etc (tapered style in place of the old ball beaings) My question is, how tight is the bearing that sits on the shaft of the drive flange meant to be? Doesn't want to slide on ( feels very tight ) |

Hey 850, I''m not up to that stage yet but went and checked mine and I've got the same issue. I bought new drive flanges and have Timken tapered bearings. There is no way to get the bearings onto the drive shaft without using a degree of force. Mine will go on about 1.5mm before binding. I haven't come across them being so tight before but this is my 1st mini. I've previously rebuild Landcruisers and Holdens as well as caravans and the cones are usually a firm fit and I've never had to knock them on with a hammer etc. What have you ended up doing? Rocky |

Polish the surface by hand with some 180 abrasive cloth or paper, the bearings should slide on by hand. Aftermarket parts quality or lack of.. |

Just an update - got busy with a bit of wet/dry and they slide on now. Still a firm fit but at least go on now. Seemed to be more of a problem right at the end of the flange where you start to put the bearings on. One took a while whereas the other one didn't take much at all. Rocky |
