Post subject:  Correct park/indicator bulb housing for standard set-up?

Went to fit a set of super duper LED park/indicator bulbs in one of the front housings and found it was an aftermarket and the LED bulb wouldn't fit under the lens, so ordered a 27H5545 which is supposed to be the number for this housing.....it only has an earth terminal and one power terminal, and the the original ones have 2 power terminals (1 for park, 1 for indicator)

This part number is supposed to be correct but it can't work as it is with only 1 power terminal or am I missing something?

27H5545 is the correct part number for the twin filament park/blink light.
Your photo looks like 37H5528 which is for a single filament globe (hence the single terminal at the back). This is used when you have the parking light inside the main headlight unit as a separate globe and the small light is only used for the blinker - usually with an orange globe or orange beehive lens
Check this photo of the twin unit you want - not the clearest!

Thanks Bill.
Guess either the supplier sent the wrong one or their part number is wrong.

Having an afterthought:
since you are fitting LED types that I have no experience with (but they seem to be a good idea), check with the globes as to whether they have their 2 locating pins offset (for twin filament) or parallel (for single filament).

Timmy 201 posted some information about these globes recently.

The LEDs have offset pins and the bulb actually fits into the housing properly but I can't see a way that I can attach the 2 separate power wires. Seems weird and contradictory....

These are the bulbs that Timmy posted. They are like DRLs when in park mode, so make the car much more visible, and the orange turn signal is bright and can be easily seen, a great bonus when turning right at roundabouts!

The upshot of all this seems to be you have been supplied the single filament bulb holder. You need the standard mini one.
Here's another link to the 2 filament (standard mini fitment) holder, with Lucas part number L594

The BMC part number 27H5545 is correct for a twin-filament bulb holder so they supplied the wrong part.

Anything special or do you just buy the LED globes?

LED went straight in.. unsure i need to change the flasher can or not yet as there is a slight glitch, but I think that i more of a car wiring issue more than the LEDs.
