Would any one know what rear hydro helper springs for a 72 gt were fitted as i have green stripe ones and orange ones and they are 2 different lengths. |

Do you mean the total length of the spring plus both ends? Or just the eyelet end for the stub axle? Happen to be cleaning up a pair of these at the moment. There are 2 different springs: the first were fitted up until some time in early 1966, then replaced by the orange coloured ones used thereafter. That is some very good information thank you for that. I have had a few gt over the years some better the others and they all have been different. Some have had green bags, yellow bags green springs, orange springs so its good to know what's should be in it. |

The pair I am cleaning up now still have a good zinc plating on them so just used a degreaser and wire brush. Others I have washed in a phosphoric acid solution to get dirt and rust off, then had them zinc plated. Doesn't harm the rubber bits inside the spring. |
